Some people go through it in four months and are already on their way to getting certified and some people take a year to get through it. Another thing a lot of successful medical coders have done is getting their foot in the door by getting some kind of job in the medical industry. Whether it’s an intern at a medical office to build your way up or a registrar at a hospital it’s easier to get your foot in the door when you already have some kind of medical experience on your resume.

The best thing to do is to just remember that even though schooling and studying and trying to get your foot in the door can be tough, it is completely worth it in the end. The best way to become successful in this job is to put in the hard work and know going in that success comes to those that are always reaching to take the next step and have the initiative to be the one to take that first step to success.
